May favorites

So I know that I’m a little bit  late for this post, but I thought better late than never! This is my first favorites post, and if I’m being honest I won’t do them often because I really don’t have that much new things every month.(too expensive for me!)

1. Deo from Färg och Förändring. This deodorant is so good! It has really good ingredients and it works as well. The smell is very girly and fruity and I wear this when I’m going to work, to school or when I go shopping and it stays one. I don’t think it will work when you workout but you’re supposed to sweat when you exercise! Not smell like a flower. I will definitly buy this one again. There are other scents and you can buy it here

2. Naked Lips lipbalm. I wrote about this lip balm here and I still like it. You can read about what I wrote there.

3. Vapour Organic Beauty Aura Multi-Use-Blush in Tender. This is a sheer formula and normally I don’t use blush but I this one changed my mind. I love the baby pink color, it gives a nice healthy glow to the cheeks and it’s the first baby pink color that I can wear on my lips that doesn’t make me look ill. I also tried to apply it on my eyes but it didn’t show up the way I wanted. This is a sample and I’ve used it many times already (and I got much left.) The only thing I don’t like about this one is the price.

4. Pai Skincare Camomille and Rosehip Calming Day Cream. So I don’t use it as a day cream but as a night cream. It makes my skin glowy and look a lot smoother. It has the same effects as Argan oil but this calms my skin more and takes away the redness better. It was a sample and I used it for two weeks almost every night! So a little goes a long way. This product is for those who have sensitive skin.

5. Organic Rosewater. I wrote about this product in my mini-haul and you can read it here. This is my new holy grail. I use this everyday, in my hair and on my face and it works amazing. I prep my face with it before moisturizer and I set my makeup with it. I also like to spray it in my hair and it both gives volume and moisture. If you haven’t tried rosewater, try it! You won’t regret it,

St. Tropez Naturals Self Tan Lotion Review/First Impression

So summer is getting closer and what I’ve been longing for is tanned skin, without having to lie in the sun for several hours per day. I want that sunkissed look without having to look orange or risking to get skin cancer. I’ve been wanting to try out the St. Tropez self tanners, because I’ve heard that the colour looks amazing because of the green tone to it. (now it doesn’t look green, it just looks more natural than the other because they look more orange) I had no idea that they had a natural version of St. Tropez, so when I found out about the St. Tropez Naturals Self Tan Lotion I had to buy it. One thing that really disappoints me is that it contains DHA, which I had read that it didn’t, but I guess I have to read the ingredient list more carefully from now on. I’m still going to use it, because I don’t want to throw away a expensive bottle.

I should probably tell you that I’ve never used a self tanner before so this was a new experience for me and I don’t really have anything to compare it with. So let’s move on to the product.

This is a gradual tanner that you should apply 2-3 times a week. The formula is a little bit thicker than a normal body lotion. It was easy to apply and it blended beautifully. It also dried really fast. I applied it in the evening after I had exfoliated and applied a body lotion. When I applied it it looked like a normal body lotion, at first it didn’t give any color at all, but when I woke up in the morning I had got a sunkissed look to my skin. nothing dramatic but you could see it, it looked like I had been on holiday for a week. (now I don’t get easily tanned) I also applied it to my face and it worked out just fine, even though it’s not meant for your face. You can build the colour up if you want it to be darker. The scent is very strong when you apply it, but fades away after a some time. It smells like a mixture of a male parfume and mangoes. that’s the easiest way I can describe it.

so all in all:

The pros:

+ nice colour, gives you a helthy glow!

+ nice packaging

+ easy to apply

+ dries fast

+ leaves a nice shimmer

+ you can build it up if you want it to be darker

(+ works on the face too, at least for me )

The cons:

– a little bit expensive

– might not be natural enough for you

– contains DHA

I must say I love to be a little bit tanned, because I’m pale almost all year around. I will definitly keep using this, because I really like the result, sunkissed skin is always welcome in my life!

Wanted; BB cream

There are few products that I’m looking for but have not yet found. It’s hard to know what to buy when shopping online. Especially when searching for natural products. One of those things are BB-Cream.

I’m looking for a natural BB-cream that is not too expensive and contains good ingredients. It shouldn’t be too oily because I want to wear it in the summer. It should also have SPF 15 or higher and a good coverage but not as much as a foundation.

Here are a few bb-creams that I’ve been thinking of purchasing. Juice Beauty CC cream, 100% pure tinted moisturizer, Iroisie Soin Parfait Ultimate BB cream, Luxsit BB cream and REN satin perfection BB cream. I’ve read that these products doesn’t have so good coverage but the ingredients are good. The only thing stopping me from buying one of these are the prize.

Are there any products you are searching for but haven’t found? Comment down below and maybe we can help each other 🙂

Liebstar Award

Hey there! For a couple of days ago I got a comment from Alex, telling me that she nominated me for a Liebster Award. Thank you so much for the nomination! I’m happy that I got nominated 🙂 This is a tag for new bloggers or for bloggers with less than 200 followers. I’m going to answer some questions, post 11 facts about me and then ask 11 questions.. This is my first tag ever so let’s get started!

1. What/Who inspired you to start blogging?

I’ve had two blogs before this one, where I wrote about my life. It felt like it wasn’t enough, I hadn’t any great pics to post of my outfit or any stories I could share. I liked to blog, but didn’t have a subject. When I got into green beauty I immediately began to think about starting a blog, I wanted to share my experience and just get into the green community because I feel like we can all help each other and everybody is so kind and helpful here.

2. If you could use only one makeup product for the rest of your life, what would you use (blush, eyeliner, foundation, etc.)?

Mascara! My eyelashes are not so black and thick as I would want them to be. I feel like I can live without a foundation, because my skin is getting clearer now when I use natural skin care. I would have answered foundation two years ago, because I had a lot of acne and I used foundation pretty much everyday. Now I only need mascara to darken my eyelashes. (and if this is not cheating, I could use it as an eyeliner by dipping an eyeliner brush in the mascara :D)

3. What is your favorite book from childhood?

When I was 7 I loved to read the Sweet Valley High novels! They were my favourite books and I think I’ve read almost everyone of them. (I used to hope that I had a secret twin that looked just like me and we would somehow have been seperated when we were young) You can say that I was kind of obsessed.

4. Have you watched any of the Oscar movie winners and/or nominees from this past year and what is your verdict? If not, what Oscar movie and/or nominee movies from this past year do you want to see?

Yes I think I have. I’ve watched Django Unchained, Skyfall and Les misérables. I liked Django Unchained and Skyfall. I haven’t watched the whole Les misérables. I liked the actors but I think I wasn’t used to the singing in Les Misérables. Maybe I will like it more if I watch it again. I liked Skyfall because of all the action and the plot. I’ve always been a fan of James Bond moives. The movie Django Unchained was one of my favorites, because of the heartbreaking plot, the great actors and the movie in general.

5.  What word makes it the most into your personal vocab?

Well this has to be a swedish word, since I speak swedish everyday. I would have to say Alltså or typ. I use it to much and my teacher would always make fun of me (not in a bad way). Typ means kind of but also so much more. (when I use it) and alltså means so. It’s hard to explain because it means so many things.

6. What are your top five favorite clothing stores to shop at?

There aren’t many stores where I live, and some of you have probably never heard of some of these clothing stores. I like Zara, Mango, Ginatricot, Bikbok and H&M. I try to stay away from H&M because of their nasty background. It just doesn’t feel right to buy their clothes when I know that some of are made in terrible conditions.

7. What is your most loved health food and green beauty product?

It’s hard to pic one when it comes to food. I love fruit and I eat soo much fruit everyday (compared to the rest of my family, but probably not compared to a fruitarian) I like pomegranate, pineapple, oranges, water melon, cantaloupe.. and the list goes on!

When it comes to green beauty product I’ll have to say… oils. Not surprised? You can use oils to so many things! For instance: as a makeup remover, a moisturizer, a sunscreen or a hair mask. My favorite oils are coconut oil, argan oil and avocado oil.

8. The Voice or American Idol?

Never seen any of them so I can’t answer this question. :/

9. Where do you want your next vacation spot to be?

There are so many places I want to visit; the maldives, dubai, South Asia, Japan, Australia, Italy… But I would really love some sunshine right now so I woud probably choose the maldives. It looks so nice there, with the bangalows, the turquoise water and the white sand.

10. When was your first concert?

2011. I went to an Enrique Iglesias consert with my friend.

11. What accent can do you the best besides your own?

A swedish accent here in Finland called Högsvenska. 🙂

11 Facts about me:

1. I speak swedish, but my dialect is so difficult so other people from Sweden don’t understand me at all. They think that I speak norwegian.

2. I played soccer for 10 years, but I quit two years ago.

3. I’m a parfume addict.

4. I am also addicted to chocolate….

5. …. and tv shows.

7. I live in Finland.

8. I’ve had two surgeries. One heart surgery and one to remove my tonsills.

9. I’m really terrified of bears. When I was in northern Finland, a place that was known for having a lot of bears,  I couldn’t even go outside alone. Still, I like adrenalin kicks so I went in the woods with my brother and my cousin on a quad bike and just drove around. Scariest thing I’ve ever done.

10. My biggest dream is to live abroad.

11.  I am very spontaneous and I love to try new things.

Here are my nominations:

Julia – Sundvardag

Naomi – Beyoutify –

M – msgreenbeauty –

… and everyone else who wants to do this! 🙂

My questions:

1. What is your holy grail product?

2. Sweet or salty food?

3. If you had to live abroad, where would you want to live?

4. What is your favorite makeup brand?

5. In your opinion, what celebrity has the most beautiful hair?

6.  How often do you blog?

7. If you could only bring 3 makeup items with you, which 3 would you choose?

8. How did you choose the name for your blog?

9. What is your favorite quote?

10. Favorite trend?

11. Do you like to read? If so, what is your favorite book?

Zuii Organic Certified Organic Flora Lipstick

So I decided to take some pictures while wearing the lipsticks I wrote about here. Just a little reminder, the pigment are not as strong because I used a lip pencil. Also, you can see that the three nudes Brown Sugar, Natural and Nude looks very similar.

1. Brown Sugar

2. Natural

3. Nude.

4. Clay

5. Sheer peach

6. Mandarin

7. Pink flesh

I hope these pictures helped you. I am still not sure which color I should buy! I love all the colors! I can only buy one because they are pretty expensive (29.95 dollars) Which one do you think I should buy? 🙂

Finding the perfect nude

Hi there! Today I will write about the Zuii Organic’s Certified Organic Flora lipsticks, as I promised. There are many different shades to choose. I purchased seven samples, four of the shades are nude, and 3 are peach/pink. I’m searching for the perfect nude lipstick, and I think that I might have found it. 🙂 The texture is creamy, but I still like to put a lipbalm underneath. I have to exfoliate before I put the lipstick on, otherwise if I have some dry skin it can show up. I used a lip pencil, and the pigment was pretty good, and I’m sure if you put the lipstick on directly from the tube, the pigment will be stronger. These green lipsticks are certified organic and all the shades are really beautiful. The finish is matte and that’s what I’m looking for when it comes to nude shades. The ingridient are also very good, for instance sunflower oil, castor oil and jojoba oil! The lipsticks smell good, just like flowers.

So this is what the samples look like. The amount is different in all the samples, some of them had a lot of the product and some had really little.

These are the peachy / pinky shades.

And these are the nudes.

So here are the swatches!

1. Brown Sugar is a lovely nude and the shade suits me well. It’s a pinky- nude shade but has a brown hint to it. I am very pale right now so it will suit you if you have pale skin like me, and it will also look good on faire to medium skin tones. It might be a little bit pale for darker skin tones. It has more of a cool undertone but it doesn’t make me look sick, and believe me, I have a problem when it comes to finding a nude that doesn’t make me look ill. I think this will look good for an everyday look or a night time look (like a smokey eye)

2. Natural. This one is very similar to the brown sugar, but it’s a little bit darker, more brown-ish and has a warmer undertone. I think this will look good in the summer when I’m tanned. It also looks good right now when I’m pale but it’s a liiiittle bit too dark for being a nude. Still, I would use it in an everyday look because it’s a beatiful shade.

3. Nude is more pink than the other nudes and the color is very pretty. It reminds me a little bit of the shade that Lana del Ray often uses.

4. Clay is a peachy nude shade with an orange tint. I think it will look good in summer, but it doesn’t suit me now when I’m pale. Of all the nude shades this one was my least favorite. I would probably call this one a peachy-orangey color over a nude, but that is my personal opinion. Some people might disagree.

5. Sheer peach is a beautiful pinky-peach shade. It’s looks a little bit darker in the sample but when I apply it it looks lighter and more girly.

6. Mandarin. This one is the perfect lipstick if you’re looking for a pop of color on your lips but don’t want it to be a red or a bright pink. It’s a bright peachy shade with a warm undertone. Even though it’s very bright it still looks somehow natural. I really liked this one and it will look great with tanned skin and a winged eyeliner! I want subtle lipsticks but somehow this one just makes me want to buy it immediatly. It has a slightly orange tint to it but it doesn’t look too ‘orangey’ if you know what I mean 🙂

7. Pink flesh. Last one! Because of the name (pink flesh) I was expecting a pink shade. This one is more of a peachy-nude pink shade! Hard to describe, but the best way is a mixture of dusty pink and peach, and then they have added some nude color into it.

Well, describing these colors was harder then I had expected! All the colors are very similar, sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference. It was my first time, I hope I did okay. 🙂 If you want, I could take some pictures while I’m wearing them, so it’s easier to see what the colors look like. Do you think I should do that?

Let me know what you think, and which color you think is the prettiest. I have to say my favorites are Brown Sugar, Nude and Mandarin.

How to: Lighten your hair naturally!

Hey there! Today’s post is going to be about how to lighten your hair naturally. Some of you might already know this, because many people use these methods, but I’m going to tell you people who don’t know!

1. Lemon and sun

This is pretty simple actually, you only need a lemon and sunlight. I only do this in the summer, because here in Finland the sun doesn’t always shine. It’s really dark here in the winter, and even in spring and fall. But if you live somewhere where it’s warmer, then this should work all year around.

How to do it: Just take the juice from the lemon and put it in your hair, make sure it’s even and enough of it. Then just sit in the sun for a couple of hours. This method is not the kindest to your hair, it can actually be a little bit harsh and you may not see drastic results after the first time but it I think it works! I can already see that my hair looks lighter after the first time, even though it’s not so drastic.

Then just remove the lemon with water. I always shampoo and condition my hair afterwards.

2. Chamomile tea rinse

This is also pretty simple. Just warm up water to 90-95° C (this amount depends on how much hair you have, but I like to use 1,5 litre) and then add 4-6 bags chamomile tea. You want the tea to be strong, otherwise it won’t work as good. I like to rinse my hair with this after I’ve shampooed and conditioned my hair. Remember to not wash your hair with water afterwards! This one is not harsh at all as the lemon method, it’s actually good for your hair! So you get a 2 in 1 here. 🙂

3. Honey

Now there is two recipes for this one. One is more simple.

First recipe: Just mix honey with your conditioner! Apply to your hair after you’ve used your shampoo, and let it be in as long as you want to, but 20 minutes should be enough. (The longer the better) Then just rinse with water!

Second recipe:

You will need:

Honey (1/2 dl)

Water (1/2 dl)

Olive Oil (1-2 tbsps)

Cinnamon (1 tbsp)

This recipe will work better than the one with only honey and conditioner because this one also contains olive oil and cinnamon, which  also lightens your hair. Just mix all the ingridients and apply to your hair. Remember: It can be a little bit messy. You want to let it sit for at least one hour, maybe two. As I said with the other honey recipe; the longer the better, so even over night if possible. Then just wash your hair as you would normally. (I like to shampoo twice, because my shampoo is very gentle and the olive oil can be hard to get out!)

I hope this post hepled you!

I have actually got some samples from Zuii Organics, so stay tuned for swatches later! 🙂

Imagejust a weird pic from summer when I lightened my hair w/ lemon 🙂
